Set up your microphone

PrepHint AI needs your microphone to hear you in a mock interview, and in a live session that uses listen-only mode.

Allow the microphone

1. When your browser asks to use the microphone, choose Allow.
2. If you chose Block by mistake, click the icon at the left of the address bar (a lock or sliders), find Microphone, set it to Allow for this site, and try again.
3. If your computer itself blocks the browser, open the computer’s privacy settings, find the microphone list, and switch the browser on.

Check that it is the right microphone

• Choose your headset or laptop microphone in the browser’s box, or in your computer’s sound settings.
• Speak, and watch whether the level moves. If it does not move, the wrong microphone is chosen, or it is muted.
• Close other programs that use the microphone, such as another call. Two programs often cannot use it at once.

Still not working

Reload the page and try again. If it still fails, write to hello@prephint.ai and tell us the browser, your computer, and the message on the screen. If the screen shows a reference code, add it.
