These terms are the agreement between you and PrepHint AI for using the PrepHint AI website, web app and related services (together, “the service”). By creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Who we are
The service is run and sold by PrepHint AI (“we”, “us”). Email: hello@prephint.ai.
2. What PrepHint AI is
PrepHint AI is a live interview assistant with an AI mock interviewer. It listens to the conversation you choose to share, turns speech into text, and suggests answers. In mock interviews, an AI interviewer asks you questions so that you can practise. Suggestions are written by AI. They can be wrong, so you decide what to say.
3. Where it may be used
PrepHint AI is made for practice and for conversations where help from AI is allowed. Check the rules of your employer and of the interviewer before you use it in a real interview. If the answer is no, use it to practise.
4. Orders and payments: Paddle is the Merchant of Record
All orders are handled by our online reseller Paddle.com (“Paddle”). Paddle is the Merchant of Record and reseller for all orders of the service. Paddle takes your payment, handles tax, sends invoices and receipts, and deals with payment questions and refund payments. Paddle’s Buyer Terms (https://www.paddle.com/legal/buyer-terms) apply to your purchase. You contract with Paddle for the purchase, and with us for your use of the service under these terms.
5. Plans and prices
We offer weekly, monthly and yearly plans, and Unlimited weekly and Unlimited monthly plans. The current prices, and what each plan includes (live time and mock interviews), are on the pricing page. Prices are in US dollars, and Paddle may show tax on top, depending on where you live. The weekly, monthly and yearly plans have the live time and mock interviews shown on the pricing page. The Unlimited plans have no cap on live time or mock interviews, and fair use applies. Every plan has a longest single call of 2 hours on Weekly, 3 hours on Monthly and Yearly, 4 hours on Unlimited and one live call at a time. We may offer a free start (live time and a mock interview); if we do, the amount is shown in the app and can be used once per account.
We may change prices or plan contents. A change does not apply to a period you have already paid for.
Fair use
Fair use applies to the Unlimited plans, so that everyone can use them fairly:
- One person per account. Do not share an account.
- No bots, scripts or other automation.
- Do not leave a call running when nobody is using it.
If your use looks outside fair use, we contact you first, before anything stops. We never charge an extra amount for it.
6. Renewal and cancelling
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You cancel from your account page. Renewal then stops, and you keep access to the end of the period you have already paid for. The current period is not refunded unless our refund policy says so. Paddle retries the payment for a short time. If it still fails, your plan ends at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.
7. Refunds
Our refund policy forms part of these terms. It gives a 14-day refund in some cases, and always refunds duplicate charges and billing errors.
8. Your account
You sign in with Google or with an emailed one-time code. Keep your account secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. One person per account; do not share it. Tell us at hello@prephint.ai if you think someone else has used it. You must be at least 18 to use the service.
9. Your duties around recording and consent
This is the most important part of these terms. PrepHint AI captures speech in your browser, sends it to a speech-to-text provider, and may save the text.
- You are responsible for following the law and the rules of your employer and of the interviewer.
- Where the law or the other side requires telling people, or getting their agreement, before a call is transcribed, doing so is your job.
- We do not ask you to confirm this before each call. You accept these terms once, when you sign up, and this section applies every time you use the service.
Laws about recording and transcribing differ from country to country, and in some places everyone in a conversation must agree. If you are not sure, ask the other people in the call before you start, or use PrepHint AI to practise only. See our acceptable use rules too.
10. Your content and your transcripts
You keep ownership of what you put into the service: resumes, documents, job details, and the text of your calls. You give us permission to store, process and send that content to our providers, only as needed to run the service for you (see the privacy notice for who they are).
The transcript of a call is saved unless you switch saving off. If you switch it off, we do not save the transcript. Backups, and our speech and AI providers, may still hold text for a short while, so we do not promise that nothing was kept anywhere. This can be up to 60 days.
11. Acceptable use
You must follow our acceptable use rules. If you do not, we may block your account or end your access.
12. AI answers
Answers and interview feedback come from AI models. We do not promise that they are correct, complete or right for your situation. We do not promise any result from using the service, such as a job, an offer or a pass.
13. When the service is not available
We aim to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults. If a call fails because of a fault on our side, our refund policy says what we give back.
14. Our rights in the service
We own the service, its software, its design and the PrepHint AI name and logo. You may use the service as these terms allow. You may not copy it, resell it or try to take it apart.
15. Ending your access
You can stop using the service and cancel from your account page. We may block or end your account if you break these terms or the acceptable use rules, or if the law requires. Deleting your account marks it deleted and stops sign-in. What we keep afterwards is in the privacy notice.
16. Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits what the law does not let us limit, such as responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our fault, or for fraud, or your rights as a consumer. Apart from that, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
17. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. If a change touches who the seller is, your duties, how your data is used, money rules (pricing rules, refunds, renewals), our responsibility or the law that applies, we ask you to accept the new terms again before your next call. Other changes, such as spelling, wording fixes, links, layout or contact details, do not need a new acceptance.
18. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and disputes go to the courts of Nairobi. If you are a consumer, the law of the country where you live may give you rights that these terms cannot take away. These terms are written in English. If we publish them in another language, the English version governs.
