The micro1 AI interview is a conversation with an AI recruiter called Zara, available on demand once you apply. It asks questions based on the role you pick, and micro1’s terms say your answers must be your own. Prepare by practising the kinds of questions out loud with a mock interviewer, and by testing your microphone, camera and room first. Checked 30 October 2026.
What micro1 is and how the interview works
micro1 is a company that connects people with AI-related jobs. On its AI interview guide, it says every candidate takes an interview with its AI recruiter, Zara, and that the interview is available on demand, so you can do it when it suits you. Checked 30 October 2026.
The same page says the interview can include open-ended technical questions based on the role you chose, scenario questions about how you think, solve problems and communicate, a coding challenge for technical roles and a human data exercise for annotator roles. It says you get a result showing whether you meet micro1’s certification criteria, and that you can ask for feedback if you do not.
micro1’s privacy notice for candidates says interview data can include audio and video recordings of your interview sessions, screen recordings for technical assessments and transcripts. It was last updated 21 July 2026.
We could not confirm the length of the interview, or whether you can retake it, from micro1’s own pages. Check your invitation for those details.
What micro1 says about AI help
micro1’s terms for candidates, last updated 21 July 2026, say you must give your own answers in an interview, without third-party assistance unless the interview instructions explicitly allow it. They also say a violation can lead to losing access to the platform, and that micro1 may report it to prospective employers. Read the terms yourself before you start.
Questions of the kind you may be asked
These are practice questions of a common type, not questions taken from micro1.
- Tell me about the work you do best. A good answer names one skill or job type, gives a short example of using it and says what the result was. The micro1 guide suggests choosing one core skill to be evaluated on, so keep your answer focused.
- Describe a time you had to check someone else’s work for mistakes. A good answer shows how you looked for errors, how you decided what mattered and how you explained the problem.
- You are given unclear instructions for a task. What do you do? A good answer shows that you ask a short question, state your assumption, and keep going.
- Walk me through how you would solve a problem in your field. A good answer goes step by step, says why you chose each step and names a limit of your approach.
- How do you keep your work consistent across many similar tasks? A good answer mentions a checklist, spot checks or notes you keep.
For technical roles, also practise explaining your thinking aloud while you work on a coding problem, because a spoken format rewards clear speech as well as correct code.
Set up your space
- Use a computer with a working camera and microphone, and test them before you begin.
- Pick a quiet room and make sure nobody will interrupt you.
- Sit with your face in view, with light in front of you rather than behind you.
- Use headphones if echo is a problem.
- Close other programs so that nothing interrupts the call.
- Keep a glass of water nearby, and a pen and paper only if the instructions allow them.
How to practise with PrepHint AI
- Add or build your resume. In Resume Maker, import a PDF or answer a few questions. Resume Maker is free forever.
- Create a mock interview for the role. Describe the job you are applying for, for example a data annotation or AI trainer role in your field.
- Practise out loud. The AI mock interviewer speaks to you and listens to your spoken answers, so you rehearse the way you will speak in the real interview.
- Read the transcript. Afterwards you can read what you said, and spot filler words, long pauses and answers that wandered.
Every new account gets 15 free minutes of live help and 1 mock interview, with no card needed. See pricing for the details.
Before you go on
PrepHint AI also has live answers. micro1’s terms say your answers must be your own, with no third-party help unless the interview instructions allow it, and breaking them can cost you access. Whether you follow those rules is your decision and your risk. PrepHint AI supplies the software and is not liable for what happens on another platform.
PrepHint AI also works as an interview copilot on video calls, wherever AI help is allowed.
PrepHint AI is not connected to micro1. For other platforms, see the guide to AI-training job interviews.
